Doyle E Conner Laboratory Complex - AES Lab 7 Ventilation Renovation, Phase II

Background
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is seeking competitive bids for the renovation of the Agricultural Environmental Services (AES) Lab 7, Phase II. This project is part of the Department's mission to ensure the safety and quality of agricultural products and services in Florida. The renovation aims to enhance laboratory capabilities and comply with current standards.

Work Details
The contract includes the following work:

1. **Base Bid**: Replace eight (8) hood exhaust fans and add two (2) hood exhaust fans.

2. **Additive Alternates**:
- **Additive Alternate #1**: Renovate Room 719, including removal of canopy hoods 719A and 719B, relocation of fume hood 719-F, addition of new fume hood 719-G and fan, rebalancing air flows, new flooring, casework, and ceilings.
- **Additive Alternate #2**: Replace existing fume hoods 722-A and 722-B, and casework.
- **Additive Alternate #3**: Renovate Room 709 with new flooring, casework, ceilings, and snorkel exhaust.
- **Additive Alternate #4**: Replace existing fan F-7-19 above fume hood 719-C.

All work must comply with Florida building codes and manufacturer’s instructions. The contractor is responsible for obtaining necessary permits and providing warranties upon project completion.

Period of Performance
The construction period is set for a total of 210 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This includes 180 days for substantial completion followed by an additional 30 days for project close-out.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Doyle E Conner Laboratory Complex located at 3125 Conner Boulevard, Tallahassee, FL 32399.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess an active general contractor (CG) or building contractor (CB) license as per Chapter 489, Part I, F.S. Additionally, a bid bond guarantee is required if the total bid amount is $100,000 or greater. Bidders must also submit proof of insurance coverage before commencing work.
