Districtwide Commercial Electrical Services

Background
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District 5, is soliciting bids from qualified, licensed electrical service contractors to establish a contract for on-call repair services across District-owned and operated facilities. The goal is to ensure reliable, timely, and code-compliant electrical maintenance and repair support for safe and continuous facility operations. The contract is anticipated to begin on or about November 1, 2025.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide Electrical Contracting Services upon request at various District-owned facilities. Services include:

- Installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical power systems
- Wiring and rewiring
- Installation of fixtures
- Troubleshooting electrical problems
- Performing safety inspections
- Addressing issues with electrical panels

Specific tasks include:

- Installing new circuits (120V, 277V, 480V)
- Fire alarm systems
- Intelligent transportation systems
- Renewable energy systems like solar panels
- Commercial garage door controls.

The Contractor must respond to routine repairs within 3 business days, urgent repairs within 24 hours, and emergency repairs within 4 hours. All work must comply with the latest Florida Building Code and National Electrical Code (NEC).

Period of Performance
The contract term is expected to begin on or about November 1, 2025.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations including the District Office in DeLand and Operations Centers in Orlando, Ocala, Oviedo, Sanford, Leesburg, Cocoa, and Rockledge.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered in the State of Florida’s MyFloridaMarketplace system by the bid opening date. They must also be authorized to do business in Florida if they are out-of-state corporations or partnerships. Additionally, all bidders must hold any necessary licenses required by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for the services provided.
