Work Details
The selected firm will be responsible for developing 100% design plans and specifications for the new Public Works Joint Facility, which includes:
1. A two-story building (24,000 SF) for Public Works staff.
2. A four-level parking structure with capacity for 385 vehicles.
3. On-grade parking for Public Works vehicles and equipment.
4. Improvements to existing materials laydown and equipment storage areas.
5. Enhancements to stormwater management and landscaping.
Specific services include:
- Boundary and topographic surveys.
- Geotechnical investigations including Standard Penetration Test (SPT) borings.
- Architectural plans incorporating floor plans and elevations.
- Structural plans including foundation and building structure.
- Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) plans covering fire sprinkler systems, access control/security, IT, water, and sewer connections.
- Site plan detailing building footprint, parking lot layout, outdoor storage areas, and utility connections.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award by the City Commission; specific timelines will be outlined in the contract documents.
Place of Performance
The project will take place at the southeast corner of NW 6 Street and NW 21 Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
Bidder Requirements
Firms must have at least ten years of experience in providing Professional Engineering Services. The project manager must have a minimum of five years' experience as a Professional Engineer on similar projects. Firms must be appropriately licensed in Florida and demonstrate financial capability to perform the work.
