Background
The City of Fort Myers, on behalf of LARC, Inc., is soliciting proposals from qualified design professional firms to provide architectural and engineering services for the expansion and improvements to the Main Campus facilities located at 2570 Hanson Street in Fort Myers, Florida. LARC, Inc. has been dedicated to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1954, providing a range of community-based services aimed at empowering these individuals and their families.
Work Details
The selected consultant will provide design and construction documents for several projects including:
1) Expansion of the Adult Day Training Program (ADAPT) focusing on individuals with higher care needs;
2) Construction of a new residential R-4 group home compliant with APD requirements;
3) Addition of a generator for Building B (Commercial Culinary Kitchen);
4) Beautification and accessibility improvements including a sensory garden, reflection pond, hurricane-resistant pavilion, new sidewalks, undercover seating areas, and activity areas such as Bocce Ball court and Horseshoe Pit.
Specific requirements include:
- ADAPT expansion to be approximately 7,000-8,000 SF with hurricane shelter compliance.
- R-4 group home to be 6-bedroom/4-bath with approximately 3,500-4,000 SF.
- Generator addition for Building B to ensure kitchen operation during disasters.
- Project milestones include schematic design documents within 3 months post-award and permitting completion within 18 months.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award with various milestones set at intervals up to 18 months for project completion.
