Community Vision Plan for South Regional Activity Center

Background
The City of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is seeking bids from qualified firms to create a Community Vision Plan for the City’s South Regional Activity Center (SRAC). The SRAC is defined as the area south of the Tarpon River, east of South Andrews Avenue, north of State Road 84, and west of US-1. This initiative aims to update the SRAC plans and regulations to foster a vibrant mixed-use area that aligns with the city’s comprehensive planning efforts.

Work Details
The contractor will develop a Community Vision Plan that includes an analysis of existing conditions and focuses on core themes: Built Environment and Future Development, Streetscape and Public Realm, Multimodal Transportation, and Attainable Housing. Key components include:

- Public engagement with stakeholders such as residents, landowners, business leaders, and employees.
- Evaluation of housing in the Study Area.
- Identification of measures to increase affordable housing.
- Establishing specific implementation steps to achieve the vision for a thriving mixed-use multimodal activity center.

Period of Performance
The initial contract term shall commence upon final execution of the contract by the City and shall expire two (2) years from that date. There may be an extension period not exceeding 270 days beyond the expiration date if requested by the City.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in the South Regional Activity Center (SRAC) area of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be qualified, experienced, and licensed firms. They must demonstrate successful completion of similar services as specified in the Technical Specifications/Scope of Services section. Bidders should also comply with local business preference requirements if applicable.
