Background
The City of Fort Myers, established in 1886 and located on the southwestern coast of Florida, is seeking qualified professionals to provide civil engineering services under a continuing contract. This initiative is in accordance with the State of Florida Consultants Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA). The City aims to support its rapid growth and diverse community by ensuring exceptional municipal services while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
Work Details
The selected civil engineering firms will provide a range of services on an as-needed basis, including but not limited to:
1. Transportation Infrastructure: Roadway design, resurfacing, rehabilitation, intersection improvements, traffic studies, signalization support, and multimodal facility enhancements.
2. Stormwater and Drainage: Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater system design and rehabilitation, water quality improvements, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
3. Utilities and Public Infrastructure: Design for potable water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, reclaimed water systems, and lift stations.
4. Site Development: Grading, paving, drainage design, utility extensions/relocations for parks and public facilities.
5. Planning and Studies: Feasibility studies, capacity analyses for transportation/utility systems, environmental assessments.
6. Design and Permitting: Preparation of construction drawings/specifications and coordination with regulatory agencies for permits.
7. Construction Support Services: Bid phase assistance, construction administration/management support, field observation/quality assurance.
Period of Performance
The contract will be ongoing as needed through individual task authorizations issued by the City.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of Fort Myers and surrounding areas as required.
Bidder Requirements
Consultants must hold necessary licenses to operate in Florida at the time of submission; have been in business for at least three consecutive years; disclose any legal or ethical issues; demonstrate financial stability; maintain minimum qualifications throughout the contract term; comply with local vendor preference policies; and may need to partner with certified Minority Businesses.
