CEP Garage Roof Replacement

Background
The State of Florida Department of Education, Division of Blind Services (DBS) is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to replace the roof of the Central Energy Plant Garage at the Career, Technology, and Training Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

The existing roof is approximately 28 years old and has suffered from rust and leaks, necessitating a full replacement to protect equipment and ensure safety.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, and fees necessary for the project. The scope includes:

1. Removal of existing roof system including panels, fasteners, insulation, and debris.
2. Installation of 6-inch R-19 fiberglass insulation with white vinyl backing.
3. Installation of 24-gauge PBR galvalume panels with proper alignment and secure fastening using screws with rubber washers.
4. Installation of new flashing around all roof penetrations (vents, pipes) ensuring watertight compatibility with the new roofing system.
5. Installation of roofing accessories such as drip edge trim and ridge caps per manufacturer specifications.
6. Site cleanup post-completion to ensure a safe work area.
7. Provision of a warranty covering materials and workmanship that meets or exceeds industry standards.
8. Responsibility for obtaining all required permits and paying associated fees.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be completed within six months from the start date.

Central Energy Plant Garage located at 438 White St., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed and insured contractors with experience in similar projects. They must comply with Florida's regulations regarding workers' compensation insurance and general liability insurance requirements.
