Background
This contract is issued by the Broward County Aviation Department for the purpose of providing preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, refurbishment, and rental services for Central Energy Plants (CEP) at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).
The goal of this contract is to ensure the operational efficiency and reliability of critical HVAC systems that support airport operations.
Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive mechanical and electrical maintenance services for Water Cooled Chillers, Cooling Towers, Chiller Water and Condenser Water Pumps, Heat Exchangers, Refrigerant Monitors, and all associated CEP equipment.
Services include:
1. Preventative maintenance (PM), inspections, repairs, refurbishment, installation, and rental services.
2. Emergency service capability 24/7 for repairs or replacement of defective parts.
3. Development of an inspection and preventative maintenance work schedule.
4. Provision of trained personnel with necessary tools and materials for all tasks.
5. Turnkey pricing proposals for major/minor repairs and new installations including labor hours and materials.
6. Compliance with OEM warranty requirements and documentation of all services performed.
Period of Performance
The initial contract period will commence on the first of the month following sixty (60) calendar days from the date of award or upon expiration of the current contract on March 11, 2026, whichever is later.
The contract will last for two years with options for three one-year renewals based on satisfactory performance.
Place of Performance
All work will be performed at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), specifically within the facilities managed by Broward County Aviation Department.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid State of Florida license as a Certified Air Conditioning Contractor Class 'A' or Certified Mechanical Contractor; or Broward County Class 'A' Air Conditioning Contractor or Mechanical Contractor registered with the State.
Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of five years' experience in providing CEP services and maintain certified technicians with specific factory certifications for Carrier, York, and Dunham & Bush chillers.
Additionally, bidders must ensure that at least 90% of the total contract price work is performed by their own personnel without subcontracting.
