Background
Broward County is seeking a vendor to provide Bulk Laundry Services for the Broward Addiction and Recovery Division and various other agencies. The goal of this contract is to ensure that healthcare facilities receive clean linens, clothing, and other machine-washable items necessary for the operation of the Broward Addiction Recovery Center (BARC), which offers substance use treatment services 24/7 throughout the year.
Work Details
The vendor will provide daily pickup and delivery of various linens, clothing, and machine-washable items for BARC. Services include:
1. Regular Bulk Laundry Services: Pickup and delivery between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM daily, with a return timeframe of 24 hours.
2. Same Day/Expedited Service: Available upon request with a surcharge; pickup must occur between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM, with delivery by 5:00 PM on the same day.
3. Emergency Services: During emergencies, laundry must be picked up and delivered within six hours.
4. Supply of at least ten (10) 30-pound capacity laundry hampers with linen bags.
5. Handling soiled laundry with caution to prevent contamination, including using biohazard bags for heavily contaminated items.
6. Compliance with OSHA standards for handling bloodborne pathogens and providing Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all chemicals used in laundering processes.
Period of Performance
The initial contract period will begin on the date of award and will last for one year, with options to renew for two additional one-year periods based on satisfactory performance.

Services will be performed at designated locations including BARC Central at 325 SW 28th Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315, and BARC Residential at 3275 NW 99th Way, Coral Springs, FL 33065.
Bidder Requirements

Vendors are required to provide proof of OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens training for all staff involved in service delivery. The vendor may subcontract no more than twenty-five percent (25%) of the requested services.
