BECS, Yaskawa, and ChlorKing Equipment, Maintenance, and Repairs

Lee County Parks and Recreation is seeking to procure diagnostics, support, service, repair, parts, and replacements for BECS controllers, Yaskawa variable frequency drives (VFDs), ChlorKing NEXGEN on-site salt generators, and SENTRY ultraviolet systems. This work is essential for the ongoing operation and maintenance of the county's pool facilities. The scope of the contract includes ensuring the functionality and compliance of these systems, which are critical for maintaining water quality standards and efficient facility management. Standardization of these systems is expected to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain consistent performance across all pool facilities. This procurement is being requested by Lee County Parks and Recreation. The background for this contract is that Lee County Parks and Recreation has determined the need to standardize pool system equipment to ensure reliability and compliance with water quality standards. The ChlorKing 25.0 lbs NEXGEN on-site salt generator has proven effective in meeting the chlorination requirements of Lee County's commercial pools, whereas alternative equipment with a 16.0 lbs capacity has not been sufficient. The standardization on ChlorKing products is intended to ensure uniformity and optimal performance. The contract requirements specify that all diagnostics, support, service, repair, parts, and replacements for BECS controllers, Yaskawa VFDs, ChlorKing NEXGEN salt generators, and SENTRY ultraviolet systems must be provided by Commercial Energy Specialists, LLC. Commercial Energy Specialists, Inc. is the only authorized provider of BECS Technology and the exclusive distributor and service provider for Yaskawa and ChlorKing equipment in Florida. Instructions for submission indicate that this is not a bid. The description of services intended for purchase from a sole source is posted in accordance with section 3.9, Procurement Ordinance 25-11, and will be available for a minimum of 15 business days. Lee County Procurement Management recommends utilizing the sole-source procurement method to purchase from Commercial Energy Specialists, LLC, for the reasons outlined above.
