Asphalt Patching Services - RFB

Background
The City of St. Pete Beach is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide asphalt patching services. The goal of this contract is to address various asphalt repairs throughout the city, including utility trench patches, potholes, and damaged areas in existing asphalt. This initiative aligns with the city's commitment to maintaining safe and functional roadways for its residents and visitors.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to perform asphalt patching services as specified in the contract documents. Specific tasks include:

1) Mobilization for each patching event;
2) Saw cutting and removing existing asphalt three feet beyond the edges of each patching area;
3) Removing and compacting a minimum of 12 inches of existing base material in 6-inch lifts;
4) Placing either SP-9.5 or SP-12.5 asphalt as specified;
5) Adding lime rock or crushed concrete base material as needed;
6) Performing drainage grate removal when required;
7) Ensuring compliance with Pinellas County Standard Technical Specifications for Roadway and General Construction.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence immediately following execution and is expected to be completed within three years, with an option to renew for two additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations throughout the City of St. Pete Beach, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed, bondable, and insured according to city requirements. They must submit a signed/notarized Contractor’s Bid Submittal, Fee Schedule, References, Contractor’s license, insurance certificates, and a Public Entity Criminal Affidavit. Additionally, contractors must attend a mandatory pre-bid meeting and submit their bids electronically via Bonfire or DemandStar.
