Background
The City of Lakeland (OWNER) is seeking the services of a qualified Industrial Valve Contractor to perform standard outage repairs and maintenance on the Safeties/Reliefs and Control Valves at two Combined Cycle power plants.
The goal is to ensure the operational efficiency and safety of these facilities, which include McIntosh Unit No. 5 and Larsen Unit No. 8, both located in Lakeland, Florida.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary equipment, materials, labor, supervision, and tools for the repair, restoration, refurbishment, and maintenance of Control Valves, Safety Valves, and other valves as required by the OWNER.
Specific tasks include:
- Performing scheduled outage work as well as unscheduled emergency work.
- Repairing various types of control valves including sliding stem valves and rotary stem valves from manufacturers like Fisher and GE.
- Conducting diagnostic testing and ensuring compliance with OEM specifications.
- Providing detailed reports on repairs conducted.
- Maintaining a clean work environment and adhering to safety regulations.
- Mobilizing on-site within 24 hours for emergency services.
- Providing hourly billing rates for different classifications of labor.
- Ensuring all work complies with federal, state, and local safety standards.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence on October 1, 2024, and will be valid through September 30, 2025.
There is an option for four one-year renewals upon mutual consent.

The services will be performed at the McIntosh Power Plant located at 3400 E Lake Parker Rd in Lakeland, FL,
and the Larsen Power Plant located at 2002 U.S. Hwy. 92 E in Lakeland, FL.
