7360: Metrorail Refurbishment Project Vizcaya and Coconut Grove Stations

Background
The Metrorail Refurbishment Project is issued by the Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works. The project aims to rehabilitate existing metro rail stations to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and the latest FDOT Design Standards.

The specific stations involved are Vizcaya Station located at 3201 SW 1st Ave. and Coconut Grove Station at 2780 SW 27th Ave.

Work Details
The work includes the rehabilitation of the Vizcaya and Coconut Grove metro rail stations, which encompasses: furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, services, and all incidentals necessary for concrete repairs, joint repairs, and structural steel restoration.

All construction or maintenance activities over or near railroad tracks must be performed during night-time hours. Coordination with transit staff is required. The contractor must obtain and submit all necessary permits prior to commencing work.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for the project is September 23, 2026, with a total duration of 365 calendar days for project completion.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at two locations: Vizcaya Station (3201 SW 1st Ave.) and Coconut Grove Station (2780 SW 27th Ave.), both located in Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold a valid Certificate of Competency from the County’s Construction Trades Qualifying Board as a General Engineering contractor or a General Contractor certification from the State of Florida Licensing Board. Proof of such certifications must be submitted at the time of initial response and maintained throughout the contract period.

Additionally, bidders must demonstrate experience through detailed descriptions of at least three similar projects completed within the past five years.
