Background
The St. Johns River Water Management District (the 'District') is seeking qualified contractors for the removal and replacement of fencing at the Crescent Lake Conservation Area. The goal of this contract is to enhance the security and aesthetics of the conservation area by replacing approximately 820 linear feet of existing board fencing with approximately 845 linear feet of new board fencing. This project aligns with the District's mission to manage and protect water resources in Florida.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
- Removing approximately 820 linear feet of existing board fencing.
- Constructing approximately 845 linear feet of new board fencing using four (4) one-inch by six-inch by sixteen-foot (1” x 6” x 16’) rough-cut cypress or pressure-treated pine boards.
- Ensuring that all work complies with specified requirements, including securing boards with a minimum three-inch length decking screws to four-to-five-inch diameter by six-and-one-half-foot long line posts set on eight-foot centers.
- The top board must be even with the top of the fence posts, with a six-inch gap separating the boards.
- Installation of a 'face board' measuring one-inch by six-inch by four-foot on the outside of all posts.
- Corner and end posts must be constructed from six- to seven-inch diameter by eight-foot posts, with line posts set at a minimum depth of 24 inches into the ground.
- All removed materials must be legally disposed of according to applicable regulations.
- The contractor must notify the District Project Manager (DPM) prior to initiating work and request inspections upon completion.
Period of Performance
The contract work must commence within 14 calendar days of contract execution and shall be completed no later than June 30, 2026.
