Description

The overall objectives of the 2025 Indian River Lagoon Seagrass Mapping (the Project ) are for Consultant to: a) be responsible for all flight planning and mission management and acquire aerial imagery of the entire Indian River Lagoon ( IRL ) in digital format at an appropriate time in 2025; b) use the imagery to produce a complete map of seagrass that meets the specifications required by the District and supports valid comparisons with existing map products; c) use the imagery to produce a separate complete map of Caulerpa spp. that meets the specifications required by the District and supports valid comparisons with existing map products; d) deliver the maps, processed 2025 aerial imagery, and all files used in establishing orthorectification; and e) perform other key processes described in the Statement of Work (Attachment A).

Appropriate Geographic Information Systems ( GIS ) and photogrammetric software shall be used to ensure that all maps will be fully compatible with the data presently in the District's ArcGIS library.

Background
The Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District (the District) is seeking qualified consultants for the 2025 Indian River Lagoon Seagrass Mapping project.

The project aims to enhance the understanding of seagrass distribution in the Indian River Lagoon, which is crucial for environmental management and conservation efforts. The District's mission includes protecting and managing water resources and ecosystems in the region.

Work Details
The consultant will be responsible for:

a) Flight planning and mission management to acquire aerial imagery of the entire Indian River Lagoon in digital format at an appropriate time in 2025;

b) Producing a complete map of seagrass that meets District specifications and allows valid comparisons with existing maps;

c) Creating a separate map of Caulerpa spp. that meets specifications;

d) Delivering processed aerial imagery, maps, and all files used for orthorectification;

e) Performing additional key processes as outlined in the Statement of Work (Attachment A).

The use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and photogrammetric software is required to ensure compatibility with the District's ArcGIS library.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be performed in 2025, with specific timelines for deliverables outlined in the Statement of Work.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily take place over the Indian River Lagoon area, with deliverables submitted to the St. Johns River Water Management District headquarters located at 4049 Reid Street, Palatka, Florida.
