2024 2025 South Florida Forest Inventory Project

Background
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) is seeking competitive bids for professional forestry service contractors to conduct inventory services on Florida Forest Service (FFS) lands. The goal of this contract is to perform timber stand inventory plots within the Picayune Strand State Forest, the Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest, and the Babcock Ranch Preserve. This project aims to assess and manage forest resources effectively, ensuring sustainable practices are upheld.

Work Details
The contractor will provide professional forestry services including conducting timber stand inventory plots across specified state forests. The scope includes measuring tree diameters, assessing species composition, estimating timber volume, and collecting data necessary for forest management decisions.

Specific deliverables include quantifiable, measurable, and verifiable units as described in Exhibit A, which must be received and accepted in writing by the contract manager before payment. The contractor must also ensure that all work complies with state regulations and standards.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon execution of the agreement and will continue through the duration specified in the contract. Potential extensions not exceeding six months may be granted based on performance evaluations and funding availability.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at designated locations within the Picayune Strand State Forest, Okaloacoochee Slough State Forest, and Babcock Ranch Preserve in Florida.
