Redden State Forest Commercial Harvest - Bailey Tract Stand 6

Background
The Delaware Department of Agriculture Forest Service is issuing a solicitation for a commercial timber sale located at Redden State Forest, specifically in the Bailey Tract. The goal of this contract is to manage and harvest timber sustainably while adhering to state regulations and best management practices. The contract involves the sale of approximately 58 acres of timber, primarily Loblolly Pine, with an estimated sawtimber volume of 1,070,158 board feet.

Work Details
The successful bidder will be responsible for providing all necessary labor and equipment to perform the following tasks:

1. Clearcut harvesting method as prescribed by the Department.
2. Harvest all live trees within the designated contract boundaries, excluding marked exclusion areas.
3. Ensure that all operations are conducted professionally and in compliance with state regulations, including avoiding damage to non-designated trees and maintaining clean work sites.
4. Maintain proper stump height (no greater than 12 inches) and ensure that water sources remain unobstructed during operations.
5. Provide a list of crew members and references for approval by the Department prior to commencing work.
6. Follow all best management practices to prevent erosion and sedimentation during operations.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution of the contract documents and will terminate 365 calendar days thereafter, unless an extension is granted in writing by the Delaware Department of Agriculture.

Place of Performance
The timber sale will take place at Redden State Forest, specifically on the Bailey Tract located west of Piglet Path and south of Wilson Hill Rd in Delaware.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a bid deposit of $5,000 in the form of a certified check. They must also provide proof of liability insurance with minimum coverage limits ($100,000 per person, $300,000 per occurrence) and property damage insurance ($50,000). Bidders are required to comply with all state laws/regulations and must have their crew members approved by the Department prior to starting work.
