Polytech High School Roof Replacement

Background
The Polytech School District is seeking bids for the Roof Replacement project at Polytech High School located in Woodside, Delaware. The goal of this project is to replace the existing roof with a new EPDM roofing system, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. The contract is identified as Contract No. A-01 and is part of the district's ongoing efforts to maintain and improve school facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a complete EPDM fully-adhered roofing system with a manufacturer's 20-year warranty. This includes:

1. 60-mil Sure-Seal black EPDM membrane with factory-applied tape seam.
2. Bonding adhesive as required by the manufacturer for full adherence.
3. All necessary flashings, termination bars, and accessory materials for a complete installation.
4. Installation of 2" protection board mechanically fastened over the existing EPDM and insulation, ensuring proper penetration through the existing concrete roof deck.
5. Preparation of the existing roof assembly to receive the new roof recover system, including repair of any damaged areas and removal of loose materials.
6. Thorough cleaning of the substrate prior to adhesive application using compressed air, vacuum equipment, and brooms.
7. Compliance with manufacturer's installation instructions and industry standards throughout the installation process.
8. Post-installation tasks include arranging for manufacturer's inspection and providing warranty documentation to the Owner.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence upon contract award and must be completed within a specified timeframe as outlined in the bidding documents.

The work will be performed at Polytech High School, located at 823 Walnut Shade Road, Woodside, DE 19980.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid Delaware Business License and provide their Taxpayer ID number. They are required to submit a completed List of Subcontractors with their bid, along with an Affidavit of Contractor Qualifications certifying compliance with contractor qualifications outlined in the specifications. Additionally, bidders must adhere to prevailing wage requirements and implement a Mandatory Drug Testing Program as per Delaware law.
