Transportation and disposal of liquid sludge from Wastewater Treatment Plan

Background
The City of Norwich Department of Public Utilities (NPU) is issuing this solicitation for the transportation and disposal of liquid sludge from its Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF). The facility is located at 44 Falls Avenue in Norwich, CT. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and compliant disposal of thickened sludge, a byproduct of wastewater treatment processes.

Work Details
The selected contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to receive pumped thickened sludge from the WPCF’s thickened sludge storage tanks.

The sludge will be transported in a tanker truck to a disposal facility that is licensed to accept liquid sludge. The contractor must ensure that all operations comply with relevant regulations and standards for waste management.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on April 3, 2025, and conclude on April 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Water Pollution Control Facility located at 44 Falls Avenue in Norwich, CT, with transportation to a licensed disposal facility.
