Background
The Town of New Milford Public Works Department is seeking to award a bid for pavement marking services within designated areas throughout the Town. The goal of this contract is to furnish and install painted pavement markings of specified types and colors at required locations, ensuring compliance with relevant traffic control standards.
Work Details
The contractor will provide high-quality pavement marking services, including but not limited to:
1) Four inch double line;
2) Four inch shoulder line;
3) Twelve inch stop bar;
4) Handicap symbols (white on blue background);
5) Crosswalks;
6) Parking spaces;
7) Railroad crossing markings;
8) Speed humps;
9) Arrows;
10) Pavement words (letters);
11) Abrading of existing markings;
12) Bike sharrow;
13) NACTO Green bike arrow;
14) NACTO Green bike box.
The materials used must include latex paint with glass beads and epoxy paint with glass beads, conforming to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and applicable environmental regulations. Paint shall be applied at a rate of one hundred square feet per gallon, and all work must be performed in a neat and workmanlike manner. The contractor is also responsible for protecting newly installed markings from tracking during the setting period.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to last for one year, with the possibility of extension for an additional year upon mutual agreement.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in designated areas throughout the Town of New Milford, Connecticut.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including safety and environmental regulations. A certificate of insurance naming the Town as additional insured is required.
