Technology Commercialization Consulting Services

Background
The University of Connecticut is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide consulting services focused on technology commercialization. The primary areas of interest include patent portfolio evaluation, patent monetization strategy, and access to research funding.
This initiative aims to enhance the university's ability to leverage its research outputs for commercial success and funding opportunities.

Work Details
The selected firm will provide consulting services that encompass:
1. Evaluation of the university's patent portfolio to identify strengths and weaknesses.
2. Development of strategies for monetizing patents effectively, including licensing and partnerships.
3. Assistance in securing research funding through grants and other financial resources.
The firm is expected to demonstrate relevant experience in these areas, particularly within higher education institutions.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of three years, with the possibility of two additional one-year extensions, allowing for a total potential contract duration of five years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the University of Connecticut's facilities, located in Storrs, Connecticut.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified as Small (SBE), Minority-Owned (MBE), Woman-Owned (WBE), or businesses owned by persons with a disability (DisBE) by the State of Connecticut’s Department of Administrative Services (DAS).
Additionally, bidders are encouraged to have experience working with higher education institutions and must comply with all specified mandatory submittals and forms outlined in the solicitation.
