Background
The City of New London is seeking proposals from qualified clean energy developers to establish a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the development, ownership, operation, and maintenance of a solar energy system at the New London Community Recreation Center. The goal of this contract is to enhance the city's clean energy initiatives and ensure sustainable energy solutions for community facilities.
At the conclusion of the PPA, the developer will be responsible for decommissioning the solar system.
Work Details
The selected contractor will develop, own, operate, and maintain the Community Recreation Center (CRC) solar system. Responsibilities include:
1) Entering into a binding Option Agreement with the City;
2) Applying for a NRES incentive for the CRC System in the upcoming February/March 2026 bid window;
3) Ensuring that all operations comply with local regulations and standards throughout the duration of the contract.
Period of Performance
The contract will commence on January 15, 2026, and is expected to last for a period of 20 years until decommissioning responsibilities are fulfilled.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the New London Community Recreation Center Property located in New London, Connecticut.
