Request for Proposals for Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Services

Background
DMIAAB is issuing a Request for Proposal to retain a qualified company (the Contractor) to provide one or more permitted facilities within thirty (30) miles of the geographic boundary of the Towns of Durham and Middlefield.

The goal is to receive, process, dispose of, and recycle all wastes and recyclables managed by DMIAAB. The selected Contractor should have demonstrated experience in providing such services in the Connecticut municipal market and an understanding of the relevant standards and requirements.

Work Details
The Contractor will be responsible for receiving, processing, disposing of, and recycling all wastes and recyclables managed by DMIAAB. Services must be provided in a cost-effective, efficient, regulatory-compliant, and reliable manner.

Proposals that offer a single acceptance facility for both wastes and recyclables or separate facilities for each will be considered. The contract will be established under a mid-to-long-term Agreement between DMIAAB and the Contractor.

Period of Performance
The contract performance period is expected to commence on February 22, 2025, with proposals due by March 11, 2025.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at one or more permitted facilities located within thirty (30) miles of the geographic boundary of the Towns of Durham and Middlefield.
