Background
The University of Connecticut is seeking proposals from qualified print production operations vendors to provide print and distribution services for the UConn alumni magazine.
The goal of this contract is to ensure high-quality production and timely delivery of the magazine, which serves to engage and inform alumni.
Work Details
The selected vendor will be responsible for the following services:
1. Printing of the UConn alumni magazine, with a total print run of 258,800 copies per issue.
2. Distribution services for the printed magazines.
3. Additional services include color correcting, proofreading, creating varnish files, and managing author alterations at various proof stages.
4. The vendor must provide unit costs for printing additional units, reducing units, and adding or reducing page signatures (4-page and 8-page).
5. The proposal must include a comprehensive pricing structure based on the specifications provided in the RFP.
Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and will continue as specified in the Request for Proposals, with an expected duration aligned with the publication schedule of the magazine.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the vendor's facilities for printing and at designated locations for distribution as specified by the University.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Connecticut's Supplier Diversity requirements, encouraging participation from Small (SBE), Minority-Owned (MBE), Woman-Owned (WBE), and businesses owned by persons with disabilities (DisBE).
Bidders are required to be certified by the State of Connecticut’s Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Supplier Diversity Division.
