Background
The South Central Connecticut Regional Water Authority is issuing this Invitation to Bid (ITB) for the Lake Saltonstall Water Treatment Plant Gravity Thickener Improvements Project.
The goal of the contract is to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the water treatment facility through various upgrades and replacements.
Work Details
The project includes, but is not limited to:
- Replacement of the gravity thickener mechanism drive;
- Replacement of gravity thickener covers;
- Replacement of thickened sludge pumps and variable frequency drives (VFDs);
- Installation of new process piping and instrumentation;
- Preparation and painting of stairs, platforms, railings, beam bridge, gravity thickener exterior walls, gravity thickener interior steel and iron components, and pipes;
- Replacement of the thickened sludge flow meter;
- Replacement of the sludge fill station.
Period of Performance
The contract work is scheduled to commence on November 14, 2024, and will conclude on December 17, 2024.

The work will be performed at the Lake Saltonstall Water Treatment Plant located in New Haven, Connecticut.
