Upgrade Deionized Water System, State Public Health Lab

Background
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is seeking to replace the existing Deionized (DI) Water system at their laboratory located at 8100 E Lowry Blvd, Denver, CO 80230. This laboratory provides essential testing services and must remain operational during construction. The goal of this contract is to ensure a seamless transition to the new DI system while minimizing disruptions to lab operations.

Work Details
The project involves the replacement of the following components of the DI water system:
- DI plant
- Tank
- Pump
- Supply/return lines
- End-use faucets.

The installation plan includes running new supply and return lines through hallway spaces to minimize interruptions. A building-wide outage will be necessary for replacing the plant and tank, ideally scheduled over a weekend. Contractors must coordinate with lab personnel to schedule work and manage any required interruptions in DI water supply.

Period of Performance
The anticipated timeline for the project includes a design start on May 12, 2025, with general contractor work beginning on June 9, 2025. The expected completion date for construction is March 19, 2026.
