PKAA, Matterhorn Tramway Cable Removal

Background
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is issued by the State of Colorado, Department of Natural Resources (DNR), on behalf of the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS). The purpose of this RFP is to obtain competitive proposals from qualified individuals and firms for the disconnection and removal of the historic tramway cable found at the U.S. Forest Service owned Matterhorn Mill and connecting to private property near the San Bernardo mine.

The Department seeks proposers who offer effective and creative programs, value-added opportunities, cost-effectiveness, and identification of means and methods to assist entities with the needed work tasks and deliverables noted in the Scope of Work.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the disconnection and removal of the historic tramway cable at Matterhorn Mill. This includes identifying effective methods for safely executing these tasks while ensuring minimal disruption to surrounding areas.

The contractor may also be required to provide additional goods/services that would be seen as a natural extension of this procurement over the term of this award.

Period of Performance
The project is scheduled to begin on May 1, 2026, and is expected to be completed by May 31, 2026, or as soon as practical and safe ground conditions exist.

Place of Performance
The work will take place at the Matterhorn Mill site owned by the U.S. Forest Service, located near the San Bernardo mine in Colorado.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with specific requirements including being registered with the Colorado Secretary of State or IRS if a sole proprietor. Additionally, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) may receive a 5% preference on their bid if they provide documentation of certification.

All proposals must acknowledge compliance with insurance requirements and confirm that they are not debarred or suspended from participation in federal transactions.
