Background
The State of Colorado, through Lamar Community College, is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design, construction, and delivery of a Mobile Learning Lab. This initiative aims to support various workforce development programs including welding, agriculture, precision agriculture, construction trades, and renewable energy. The project is intended to enhance educational opportunities and training in these fields.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for designing and building a custom 53-foot semi-truck trailer mobile learning lab featuring:

- A high-tech slide-out classroom with satellite internet connectivity.
- Durable all-tube frame construction with three 8,000 lb axles and electric brakes.
- Minimum 34,000 lb kingpin rating and an interior height of 8 feet.
- Automatic leveling system with Bluetooth capability.
- Equipped with 240-volt three-phase electrical generators to power training equipment and the ability to connect to external electrical sources at training sites.
- Compliance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS).

Specific components include:

- Frame specifications: double axle mains, cross members spaced at 16 inches on center for floor, roof, and walls.
- Exterior features such as aluminum thickness of .040, walk-on plywood roof, stainless steel trim, and various door types including a rear ramp door rated for 4000 lbs vehicle load.
- Interior specifications including screwless aluminum walls over plywood, insulation details for ceiling and walls, cabinetry from the PRo 920 series with aluminum countertops.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to commence in May 2025 and conclude in March 2026.

Place of Performance
The completed mobile learning lab must be delivered to Lamar Community College located at 2401 Main Street, Lamar, CO 81052.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in designing and building mobile clinics or labs similar in scope. They are required to provide references from at least three owners currently operating vehicles customized by them for similar purposes. Additionally, bidders must comply with accessibility requirements as per Colorado state standards.
