Feasibility Study of FWRF

Background
The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife, part of the Department of Natural Resources, is seeking a Professional Architect Team to conduct a feasibility study for relocating the Foothills Wildlife Research Facility (FWRF). The FWRF, currently situated on the Colorado State University campus, is crucial for wildlife health programs and research in Colorado. The facility must be relocated due to CSU's decision not to renew the lease, which extends until 2033. A new site has been identified at 5450 East County Road 60, Wellington, CO.

Work Details
The consultant team will provide a comprehensive feasibility study that includes:

1. An inventory of the existing facility to assess needs for the new location.
2. A needs assessment for additional improvements for optimal functionality.
3. Investigation of the proposed site’s existing conditions.
4. Concept design for the new facility including site layout, buildings, laboratories, and utilities.
5. Cost estimation for demolishing the current site and constructing improvements at the new site.
6. A master plan for the new site suitable for submission to Larimer County for Location and Extent review.
7. Completion of a Larimer County Location and Extent Review.

Period of Performance
The project will commence upon selection of a consultant and contract execution, with design completion expected by June 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The feasibility study will be conducted primarily at the current FWRF location at 4330 Laporte Avenue, Fort Collins, CO, with assessments at the proposed new site located at 5450 East County Road 60, Wellington, CO.
