Background
The Domestic Violence Program (DVP) was established in 1983 by the Colorado General Assembly and is part of the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS).
DVP is dedicated to funding and sustaining community-based domestic violence and sexual assault services throughout Colorado. Its mission is to partner with communities to promote the safety and well-being of survivors while preventing domestic and sexual violence through effective resource management and quality programming.
DVP is committed to serving all community-based domestic violence advocacy programs without discrimination based on various factors, including income, gender identity, race, and more.

Work Details
The contract involves providing free and confidential domestic violence services to survivors and their families. Services must be delivered by organizations that meet specific criteria as defined by Colorado law.
Key services include:
1. Providing information about rights, options, domestic violence, trauma, and socio-political contexts.
2. Safety planning.
3. Skill building in coping, emotion regulation, problem-solving, parenting, and resource attainment.

8. Engaging in community change and systems change work.
9. Conducting needs/risk assessments within the first seven days of service for new clients.

The contract will operate on a Federal Fiscal Year basis from October 1st through September 30th each year.

Services will be provided across various locations in Colorado where eligible organizations operate.
