Background
The Colorado Department of Corrections is issuing this solicitation for the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility (AVCF) located in Ordway, Colorado. The mission of the Department is to provide a safe and secure environment for the public and staff while facilitating the rehabilitation of offenders. The goal of this contract is to ensure operational reliability and compliance by replacing key equipment at the wastewater pretreatment facility.

Work Details
The project involves the complete replacement of two specific pieces of equipment at the AVCF wastewater pretreatment facility:

1. Grinder: Taskmaster Model TM1620, which includes heavy carbon steel construction, a cutting chamber measuring 14.5" x 20", hardened & ground 4140 steel cam cutters and spacers, counter-rotating hexagon shafting, heavy-duty ball bearings, a mechanical seal cartridge, and a heavy epoxy coating.

2. Conveyor: SPIRALIFT® Model SC1600 Screenings Conditioner, which includes a stainless steel infeed hopper with spray wash manifold, a stainless steel tank housing for the wash press, heavy-duty auger made from carbon steel, a perforated screen for compaction zone, liquid discharges, and a motor with specified power requirements.

All equipment must be compatible with existing systems.

Period of Performance
The anticipated construction start date is yet to be determined (TBD), with an estimated project cost of $185,000. The contractor will need to adhere to timelines set forth in the bidding documents for completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility located at 12750 CO-96 #13, Ordway, CO 81063.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with C.R.S. §8-17-101 requiring that at least 80% of labor employed on this project must be Colorado residents. Bidders must have been in business under the same name for at least two years and demonstrate experience in similar projects exceeding $175,000. A bid bond of not less than 5% of the total bid is required for bids over $50,000.
