Charter School Institute Vended Meals - AHS

Background
The Charter School Institute School Food Authority is issuing a Request for Bids (RFP) on behalf of Animas High School, located in Durango, Colorado. The mission of the Charter School Institute is to provide quality educational opportunities. This contract aims to supply nutritious meals that meet USDA National School Lunch Guidelines for the 2026-2027 school year. Animas High School has an enrollment of approximately 200 students.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Whole Grain Chicken Teriyaki/Tofu Rice bowls and Spaghetti and meatballs/Vegan bowls. Specific requirements include:

- **Whole Grain Chicken Teriyaki and Rice Bowl:** Must include chicken, brown rice, and vegetables, meeting 2 WG equivalents, 2 meat/meat alternate equivalents, and ½ cup vegetable equivalent.

- **Whole Grain Tofu Teriyaki and Rice Bowl:** Must include tofu, brown rice, and vegetables, meeting the same nutritional standards as the chicken bowl.

- **Whole Grain Spaghetti and Meatballs:** Must include whole grain pasta, spaghetti sauce, and meatballs, also meeting the specified nutritional standards.

- **Whole Grain Vegan Spaghetti and Meatballs:** Must include whole grain pasta, spaghetti sauce, and vegan meatballs with equivalent nutritional standards.

All food must be delivered hot at a minimum temperature of 140 degrees Fahrenheit or above. Nutritional specifications must be provided to ensure compliance with calorie limits (750-850), saturated fat (less than 10%), and sodium (less than 1280mg).

Period of Performance
The contract period is from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, with an option to renew for four additional years.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at Animas High School located at 22 Osprey Way, Durango, Colorado.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a signed Request for Bid form along with several certifications including Certification Regarding Debarment and Suspension, Anti-Collusion Affidavit, Buy American certification, and completed pricing information on the provided spreadsheet. Bidders must comply with all federal procurement standards as outlined in the solicitation documents.
