Architectural/Engineering services for building addition

Background
The State of Colorado, through the Office of the State Architect and the State Buildings Program, is seeking qualifications for architectural/engineering services for a project at Pueblo Community College.

The goal of this contract is to design and construct a new Nursing Simulation Lab at the Fremont Campus, which will enhance the college's Nursing program, currently experiencing high enrollment. This project aims to provide students with a controlled learning environment and includes a space needs analysis that has been completed as part of a recent Program Plan.

Work Details
The project involves the design and construction of a one-story Nursing Simulation Lab approximately 2,700 sq. ft in size.

It will be located in the north portion of the existing courtyard adjacent to an existing nursing classroom. The lab will include:
- Two Patient Labs with a shared control room for observation
- A nursing station with visibility to both patient labs
- Support spaces such as clean utility, soiled utility, meds room, and equipment storage.

The existing outdoor courtyard will also be reconfigured to provide outdoor access with seating amenities. The project will follow a Design/Bid/Build delivery method with an estimated budget of $1,800,000 for hard construction costs. Additionally, the design team is responsible for procuring site surveys and geotechnical soils reports and providing specifications for furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). Compliance with the Buy Clean Colorado Act is required.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for architectural/engineering professional services is March 17, 2025, with construction services expected to start and finish around June 30, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract work will be performed at Pueblo Community College Fremont Campus located in Cañon City, Colorado.
