Background
The Auraria Higher Education Center (AHEC) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals for American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter services to support the student service needs of Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver). The goal is to ensure equal access to educational programs, events, and campus resources for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, fulfilling legal obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

Work Details
The selected contractor will provide qualified ASL interpreters available on-site during the academic school year. Services must be available Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. The number of interpreters required will vary each semester based on student requests. All interpreters must be nationally certified or possess qualifications equivalent to national standards.

Contractors must provide at least 24 hours' notice if unable to fill an assignment and must supply substitute interpreters when necessary. Pre-approval is required for charging prep time, and all course materials provided by MSU Denver must be returned in original condition at the end of each semester. Background checks through CCIC/NCIC are mandatory for all employees prior to assignment.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract is anticipated to be one calendar year from contract execution, with the possibility of extending for up to four additional years in one-year increments, totaling a maximum of five years.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at Metropolitan State University of Denver's campus.

Bidder Requirements
Offerors must demonstrate compliance with minimum qualifications including knowledge and skills in ASL interpretation, national certification or equivalent experience, and adherence to professional standards set by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). Offerors should also provide evidence of past performance in similar roles, particularly in higher education settings.
