Background
The State of Colorado, through the Department of Personnel & Administration, is seeking proposals for the modernization of passenger elevators in the State Capitol Building. This project aims to update existing elevator systems to comply with current Elevator Safety Code Requirements and to prevent service interruptions due to potential failures of major components. The existing equipment, including Gearless Hoist Machines and Brake Assemblies, dates back to 1908 and shows significant wear.
Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Complete modernization of two (2) traction passenger elevators, which involves furnishing all necessary engineering, structural engineering, fabrication, interface adaptor plates/beams, bedplates, layouts/drawings, permits, materials, labor, tools, equipment, transportation, supervision, testing, inspection and re-inspection.
2. Full coverage preventive maintenance service starting upon Notice to Proceed and continuing through the warranty/guarantee period.
3. Provision of all application engineering documentation required by the City/County of Denver Fire Department for alterations made from the original design.

The anticipated construction start date is May 13, 2026, with an expected completion date of December 20, 2026.

The work will be performed at the State Capitol Building located at 200 East Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO 80203.
