Window Washing Services

Background
The Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (District) is a California Special District created in 1923. It is responsible for operating and maintaining the Golden Gate Bridge and a fleet of buses and ferryboats. The District is seeking bids for Window Washing Services under Contract No. 2026-B-003 to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of its facilities, which include the Administration Building and ancillary structures.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive window washing services, including:
- **Exterior Windows**: Wash twice monthly or every other week; clean all glass surfaces; remove dirt, grime, water stains, bird droppings, and other debris; wipe dry to ensure no streaks.
- **Interior Windows**: Wash once a month; clean glass, windowsills, and frames.
- The total service area includes 132 windows across the Administration Building (50 windows), 8 trailers (76 windows), and one small ancillary building (6 windows). All work must comply with OSHA regulations for working at heights and fall protection. The contractor is responsible for ensuring personnel are trained, uniformed, and identifiable while on site. A written Safety Plan addressing fall protection and lift operations must be provided.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on May 15, 2026, and continue for two years until May 14, 2028. There is an option to extend for up to three additional one-year periods.

Place of Performance
All services will be performed at the Golden Gate Bridge Facility located on the San Francisco side of the bridge.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of five years of experience in window cleaning at commercial locations and provide three local references from similar jobs. Compliance with Cal-OSHA Window Cleaning Safety Regulations is mandatory. Bidders must also submit a signed cover letter on company letterhead, acknowledge receipt of all addenda, provide a Bid Proposal Form, and include proof of insurance.
