Background
The California Department of Education (CDE) is seeking a contractor to provide tree trimming and arborist services for the State Special Schools at the Diagnostic Center, Southern California (DCSC).
The goal of this contract is to ensure the safety and maintenance of trees on the premises, addressing hazards that could potentially cause damage to people or property.

Work Details
The contractor will furnish all labor, tools, materials, transportation, ladders, lifts, equipment, services, supervision, licenses, and insurance certificates necessary to perform tree trimming and arborist services.
Specific tasks include:
1. Trimming and removal of dead, dying, diseased, decaying, obstructing, and crossing weak branches on twenty-eight (28) trees including:
- 10 Strawberry Trees
- 8 Jacaranda Trees
- 5 Pine Trees
- 2 Podocarpus Trees
- 1 Orchid Tree
- 1 Fichus Tree
- 1 Crape Myrtle Tree
2. Building clearance pruning and crown raising to a minimum of 6-8 feet for smaller trees and up to 12 feet for larger trees on thirteen (13) specified trees.
3. Removal of five (5) pine trees with stump grinding down to six (6) inches below ground level. The area will be filled to match adjacent grades.
4. All waste must be removed from the site daily; no on-site dumpsters are allowed.

Period of Performance
The work must be completed within 10 working days from the date of written notice to commence work.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed at the Diagnostic Center located at 4339 State University Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90032.
