Tom Bates Regional Sports Complex Community Facility, Pickleball Courts and U8 Soccer Field

Background
The City of Berkeley is issuing a solicitation for bids for the construction of the Tom Bates Regional Sports Complex. This project includes a community facility, pickleball courts, and a U8 soccer field. It aims to enhance recreational facilities in the area, aligning with the city's mission to provide quality parks and recreational services to its residents.

Work Details
The work includes:
- Construction of a prefabricated community facility building with restrooms, a storage room, and a multi-use room on cast-in drilled hole pile foundations.
- Installation of site improvements such as EV charger stations, ADA ramps, stairs, walkway pavement, site lighting, site furnishings, biofiltration basins, and security fencing.
- Construction of eight pickleball courts with associated fencing, equipment, and bleachers.
- Installation of a natural turf U8 soccer field with related equipment and fencing.
- Provision of new utility connections including water, electric, and sanitary sewer with a prefabricated lift station.
- Installation of irrigation and landscaping.
- Restriping of the parking lot.
- Ancillary work as per the Contract Documents.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed within 175 working days from the commencement date.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at 400-408 Gilman Street, Berkeley, CA 94710.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a California 'B' contractor’s license. The contract is subject to prevailing wage laws. A Community Workforce Agreement approved by the Berkeley City Council applies to this contract. Bidders must also comply with all insurance requirements as specified in Document 00 7316.
