Description
The SWIFT Clean Marine Port Incentive Program is seeking proposals from container terminals, non-container terminals, and other tenants at the Port of Long Beach to accelerate their transition to low- and zero-emission operations. The work under this contract includes:
Purchasing eligible zero-emission Cargo Handling Equipment (CHE) and battery-electric CHE charging equipment
Repowering, replacing, or retrofitting propulsion engines in eligible commercial harbor craft, as well as acquiring zero-emission-capable harbor craft new-builds
Purchasing eligible zero-emission locomotives
All zero-emission CHE acquired with SWIFT funding must be human-operated and maintained.
This opportunity is being offered by the Port of Long Beach, with funding provided through an approximately $58 million grant from the California State Transportation Agency.
