Background
The City of Palm Springs, an internationally recognized resort community in Southern California's Coachella Valley, is seeking to engage qualified firms for professional strategic communications services. The City aims to enhance communication with its residents, businesses, and stakeholders regarding municipal operations, public policies, and major projects.

This initiative is part of the City's commitment to providing timely and accurate information and supporting community engagement efforts.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1) For City Administration and Communications:
a) Development of public education programs and communication strategies;
b) Content support for newsletters, mailers, brochures, FAQs, op-eds, news releases, and video messaging;
c) As-needed external affairs support including community meetings and market research.

2) For the Department of Economic Development:
a) Strategic communications for the Palm Springs Convention Center modernization project;
b) Preparation of materials such as fact sheets, FAQs, presentations, press releases;
c) Community engagement facilitation;
d) Strategic counsel for government relations;
e) Media relations support including crisis communications.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for an initial term of three years with two optional one-year renewals at the City's discretion.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within the City of Palm Springs, California.

Bidder Requirements
Responders must have a minimum of three years' experience in strategic communications for municipal clients (City Administration), and seven years' experience with at least five years specifically for municipal clients (Economic Development). Responders must also possess a valid business license from the City of Palm Springs. Local businesses may receive preference if they meet specific criteria outlined in the RFQ.
