Description

Background
Alachua County is seeking proposals from qualified solar vendors with demonstrated experience in the design and installation of grid-connected solar photovoltaic systems for the Alachua County Growth Management Building. This initiative is part of the County's broader effort to implement additional solar projects across its facilities, which include rooftop systems, covered parking installations, and ground-mounted arrays where feasible. The project is funded by the Lydia B. Stokes Grant awarded to Alachua County.

Work Details
The project involves the installation of a 54 kilowatt solar PV array on approximately 3,600 square feet of existing south-facing rooftop area at the County Support Building located at 915 SE 5th Street, Gainesville, Florida. The selected vendor will be responsible for all aspects of system design, permitting, coordination with the utility provider, installation, testing, commissioning, and final interconnection. The goal is to procure a complete, code-compliant, and fully operational solar PV system that supports long-term energy efficiency and sustainability goals.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and continue until the work is completed as required by the Notice to Proceed (NTP) specified in the Draft Agreement.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the County Support Building located at 915 SE 5th Street, Gainesville, Florida.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must be registered on Alachua County's Public Portal to submit a proposal response. A performance bond and payment bond equal to 100% of the contract sum will be required from the successful proposer. Vendors must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and are encouraged to demonstrate good faith efforts to utilize Small Business Enterprises (SBE) as subcontractors.
