Sod Replacement and Soil Preparation for Barnes Park Multi-Benefit Stormwater Capture Project, CIP 20-129 Phase C

Background
The City of Baldwin Park is issuing a solicitation for the Sod Replacement and Soil Preparation for the Barnes Park Multi-Benefit Stormwater Capture Project, designated as City Project No. CIP 20-129 Phase C.
The project aims to enhance stormwater management and improve park facilities, aligning with the city's commitment to sustainable infrastructure and community resources.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Remove and dispose of 69,500 square feet of hybrid Bermuda sod.
2. Rototill the area to a depth of 8 inches.
3. Remove and dispose of approximately 80 cubic yards of rock and debris from the upper 8 inches of soil.
4. Amend soil based on agronomist testing results.
5. Conduct final agronomist testing after soil amending.
6. Install hybrid Bermuda sod suitable for heavy soccer use.
7. Perform minor irrigation repairs as needed.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to commence on June 8, 2026, and must be completed within 17 working days.

Place of Performance
The project will take place at Barnes Park, located in Baldwin Park, California.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid Class A or C27 California Contractor's License prior to contract execution.
They must also obtain a City Business License before contract award.
Additionally, all bidders are required to be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to perform public work in accordance with Labor Code Section 1725.5.
