Background
The Strategic Growth Council (SGC) under the Office of Planning and Research (OPR) is inviting qualified and experienced Virtual Power Plant (VPP) providers to submit proposals for developing and implementing Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) at eligible sites. The goal is to leverage federal funding, specifically through the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Programs Office (US DOE LPO), to implement Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) as Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) at sites and facilities supported by SGC-member programs.
Work Details
The solicitation seeks proposals for a public-private partnership to implement Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) as Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) at eligible sites supported by SGC-member programs. The selected VPP provider(s) will work with SGC to determine appropriate eligible sites, including SGC-funded Community Resilience Centers (CRCs), to develop and/or expand VPP operation with locally installed and operated DERs.
Period of Performance
The contract's term dates are from May 1, 2024, to July 1, 2029.

The geographic location for the performance of the contract is across California.
