Scaffolding Services

The City of Vernon is requesting the services of a highly qualified Contractor to provide scaffolding services over a three-year period. The scope of work includes the supply, installation, and removal of scaffolding structures for various applications, specifically for outdoor and indoor structures related to gas and steam turbine maintenance. The work includes the following: two outdoor scaffolding structures adjacent to the Gas Turbine Enclosure, each measuring approximately 15 feet wide by 36 feet deep by 20 feet high. These structures must be wrapped in plastic to protect against weather, and feature a large opening on the East Side (approximately 10 feet high) to allow forklift access. The scaffolding is estimated to remain in place for about 30 days without requiring modification during that period. This portion of the project is scheduled for spring 2028. Additionally, the contract includes the setup of scaffolding for gas turbine maintenance, which involves providing on-site materials for tailored structures. This includes one outdoor standalone structure (10 feet wide by 10 feet deep by 8 feet high) with an access door on one side (no covering required), and two indoor customer access structures (each 12 feet wide by 10 feet deep by 5 feet high) to facilitate the removal of the gas turbine exhaust turbine module. These indoor structures will be modified as the crew works, and wood planks will be needed, with further customization as directed by the STG crew. The contractor must also provide two temporary railings (each 12 feet) on the North Side of the enclosure, which will be secured to the existing structure after the CTG access door is opened, as well as any additional materials required to meet custom needs from the turbine overhaul crew. A two-person crew must be present on-site throughout the outage period to accommodate customization requests from the overhaul crew. The duration of this work will include twenty 10-hour day shifts, consisting of fifteen Monday to Friday day shifts and five Saturday to Sunday day shifts. This portion of the project is also expected to take place in the spring of 2028.
