The Contractor must be a certified Small Business under section 2-1.05. The Department establishes no DVBE Contract goal but encourages bidders to obtain DVBE participation. Background

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Replace existing bot dots pavement markings on the south and westbound directions with transverse rumble strips (1,350 LF).
2. Install flashing beacons on all four approaches of traffic at the SR-247 and Barstow Road intersection (1 LS).
3. Provide a Lead Compliance Plan (1 LS).
4. Set up construction area signs (1 LS) and a traffic control system (1 LS).
5. Manage job site operations (1 LS) and implement a water pollution control program (1 LS).
6. Remove hazardous waste including yellow thermoplastic pavement marking (280 SQFT) and treated wood waste (1,120 LB).
7. Hydroseed an area of 3,200 SQFT and manage erosion control measures (1 EA).
8. Remove pavement markers (360 EA) and roadside signs (8 EA).
9. Furnish single sheet aluminum signs (80 SQFT) and install roadside signs on one post (2 EA).
10. Apply thermoplastic pavement marking with enhanced wet night visibility (680 SQFT) and install a 6" thermoplastic traffic stripe over a distance of 20,350 LF.

Period of Performance
The work must be completed within 45 working days from the start date specified in the contract.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the intersection of State Route 247 and Barstow Road in San Bernardino County, California.
