Sacramento Fire Department Mobile Integrated Health Program (MIH)

Work Requested:
The City of Sacramento Fire Department is seeking proposals to staff its Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) Program unit. The work involves providing part-time, qualified Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants who will:

• Support the ongoing implementation and training of the MIH Program
• Deliver in-field medical care in collaboration with Fire Department Paramedics
• Perform clinical evaluations
• Provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)
• Coordinate follow-up care in partnership with healthcare and behavioral health systems

This innovative, community-based healthcare model is designed to improve patient outcomes, reduce emergency department utilization, and enhance access to care for vulnerable populations. Providers will play a direct role in addressing the opioid crisis, high emergency department utilization, and healthcare gaps among at-risk groups. Background:

Contract Requirements:

• Up to eight (8) advanced providers may be hired, depending on program needs
• Multiple contracts may be awarded, with the possibility of adding additional contracts as necessary
• The proposed budget for this project/contract is not to exceed $208,000
