Roof Replacement Services at Bridgeville Maintenance Station in Humboldt County

Background
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is seeking a contractor to provide roof replacement services at the Bridgeville Maintenance Station located in Humboldt County. This contract aims to ensure the integrity and safety of the roofing system, which is essential for the maintenance of state facilities. The project is authorized under Government Code Section 14838.7, allowing contracts for construction valued between $5,000 and $461,000 to be awarded to certified small businesses or disabled veteran business enterprises.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for all labor, tools, materials, travel, equipment, permits, and incidentals necessary for the removal, disposal, and replacement of the existing roofing system at the Caltrans Bridgeville Maintenance Station. Specific tasks include:

1. Installation of a metal roofing system covering approximately 3100 sq. ft., including metal roof panels with concealed fasteners, insulation, roof ventilation, rain gutters, downspouts, and other necessary components.

2. Roof panels must meet specified criteria: 16 to 20 inches wide with a concealed standing seam height between 1.5 and 2 inches; panels must be 24-gauge or thicker.

3. Removal of existing roof vent turbines and installation of continuous ridge vents made from industrial-strength metal.

4. Replacement of rain gutters and downspouts with seamless commercial-grade materials.

5. Compliance with all applicable building codes and standards including California Code of Regulations and local regulations.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on June 1, 2025 (estimate) and will expire on November 30, 2025 (estimate). Work shall be performed during normal business hours from Monday through Friday.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Caltrans Bridgeville Maintenance Station located at 26360 Highway 36, Bridgeville, CA 95526 in Humboldt County.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a current C-39 Roofing Contractor license issued by the California Contractors State Licensing Board (CSLB) at the time of bid submission. Additionally, bidders must have a valid registration with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) and be certified as a small business registered with the California Department of General Services (DGS). Subcontracting is not permitted under this Agreement.
