Background
The County of San Diego is issuing this Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 1643 to procure police dog supplies for the San Diego County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit. The K-9 Unit partners law enforcement officers with dogs to provide various services, necessitating a wide range of specialized equipment and supplies for training, grooming, and everyday use.

The goal of this contract is to establish a reliable source for professional-grade products that meet the specific needs of the K-9 Unit.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a variety of professional-grade police dog supplies including: leashes of various sizes and materials, training aides, agitation protective gear, collars, muzzles, dog grooming tools and supplies, K-9 first aid supplies, and water and food bowls. Specific items include but are not limited to:
1. Leashes (e.g., Latigo Leather Waist Lead, Braided Leather)
2. Training aides (e.g., Kong Tails, Air Kong Squeaker)
3. Agitation protective gear (e.g., Jute Intermediate Handled Sleeve)
4. Collars (e.g., Latigo Leather Agitation Collar)
5. Muzzles (e.g., Standard Leather Muzzle)
6. Grooming tools (e.g., Safari Shed Magic Tool)
7. First aid supplies (e.g., Rescue Essentials K9 Belt Kit)
8. Food and water bowls (e.g., Stainless Steel Military Spec Feed Pan).

The contractor must provide a market basket percentage discount off catalog pricing for all items and maintain current published Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) throughout the contract term.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be one year from the date of award, with two additional one-year options available.

Place of Performance
Supplies will be delivered to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit at Camp Elliot, MCAS Miramar, San Diego, CA 92145.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must confirm that they carry a wide range of professional-grade products suitable for police dogs and provide evidence of their capability to meet performance requirements including testing for durability and effectiveness.

Additionally, bidders who have not previously done business with the County must submit forms such as W-9 and California Form 590 to set up as a contractor in the County's financial system.
