Background
The California Science Center, part of the State of California, is seeking quotations for Building Automation System Preventative Maintenance Services. The goal of this contract is to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of the Metasys and Delta Controls building automation systems, which provide centralized control of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Regular maintenance services are essential to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of these systems.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all materials, supplies, equipment, and labor necessary for quarterly preventative maintenance on the building automation system. This includes:

1) Four (4) quarterly 8-hour visits to the Metasys control system;
2) Two (2) 8-hour visits for the Delta control system;
3) Up to 8 hours of service labor for both systems.

Specific tasks include uploading and backing up servers, verifying controller operations, testing and calibrating devices, troubleshooting issues, cleaning control panels, verifying electrical connections, maintaining graphical displays, checking historical logs for efficiency, and providing supplemental training for users. The contractor must also implement all manufacturer-released patches and updates as they become available. All equipment provided must be new and in current production.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2028.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Engineering Control Room on the first floor of the Ahmanson building at the California Science Center located at 700 Exposition Park Drive, Los Angeles, California 90037.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a C-20 Warm-Air Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning License issued by the State of California’s Contractors State Licensing Board. Additionally, bidders claiming to be a small business or a Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) must have certification by California prior to bid submission. Bidders are required to submit various forms including a Seller’s Permit and Bidder Declaration with their quotes.
