Background
The County of San Diego is seeking quotes from firms to provide Analytical Balance Calibration Services for the Sheriff's Office. The goal of this contract is to ensure that approximately twenty-six (26) balances are calibrated in accordance with ISO 17025 standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance for the County's operations.

Work Details
The contractor shall perform ISO 17025 accredited calibration services for approximately twenty-six (26) balances, including thirteen (13) that require measurement uncertainty. Specific requirements include:

1. Providing a certificate of calibration for each balance, compliant with ISO 17025 and traceable to NIST standards.
2. Ensuring precision tolerances are critically adjusted; if a balance cannot meet tolerance, it must be noted on the calibration certificate.
3. Delivering all calibration certificates annually by February before the expiration of current certificates.
4. Compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal codes during service delivery.
5. Providing documentation of technician qualifications upon request and ensuring technicians have knowledge and experience in balance calibration.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will begin on the date of award and end on March 31, 2027, with options to extend for four (4) additional one-year periods until March 31, 2031.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Sheriff's Regional Crime Lab located at 5590 Overland Avenue, San Diego, CA 92123.

Bidder Requirements
Offerors must have ISO 17025 accreditation in the field of balance calibration and employ qualified technicians. They must also comply with security clearance requirements set by the Sheriff's Office and may need to provide a DNA sample for quality control purposes.
